This week’s
blog is going to be short. The 2013 NYC
Marathon is TOMORROW! I’ve been resting up
for a day, carb loading for 5, and freaking out for a week. Everything is right on schedule.
If you want
to track me either via an app on your phone or through text messages you’ll
receive every 10K (that’s every 6.2 miles for us Americans who have never
grasped the metric system), click on this link and follow the instructions:
You’ll
need my bib number: 68202.
If
you happen to be in any of the 5 boroughs and want to cheer me on personally
(and to show my gratitude be put in my will, which in all possibility could be
executed as early as tomorrow), I’ll be wearing a BRIGHT yellow shirt with my
name written in black on white duct tape:
Many thanks to everyone who has helped and encouraged
me along this journey. I appreciate your
support more than I can ever express.
I hope next week to write a page-turner of a blog
describing the marathon in such vivid and fascinating detail that you’ll feel
as if you were running right beside me (though hopefully not experiencing all
the pain that goes along with running 26.2 miles). Until then, the mantra on the back of my
shirt says it best:
